Walking My Own Path: Shai’s Unconventional Journey to Discovering My Purpose and Passion.
Introduction to Shai’s Unconventional Journey
Hey there, and welcome to my blog!
I am thrilled to share not just knowledge but the raw essence of my transformative journey, walking my path to find my true life purpose, passion, and self-healing. Together, we’ll explore the intricate dance of being human and how we can master the incredible machine we call our body!
But before we dive in, let me paint a more vivid picture of who I am.
I’m Shai—an Israeli Jew bearing the richness of Arab heritage. My dreams once swirled around a dance career, but life led me through the military and spat me out in the heart of New York City before I found my true light in the Sunshine State.
I was born “Shai” on the morning of Rosh Hashana Eve in 1986—a gift, as my name suggests. Growing up in Rosh Ha’ayin, a town 30 minutes outside Tel-Aviv with roots tracing back to Yemen, I realized early on the world’s vastness during my annual US trips as a professional dancer for Jewish communities.
After my stint in the Israeli Defense Forces, New York City beckoned with dreams of a dance career. However, the city matured me faster than three years in the military ever could. The realization struck hard – dance wasn’t my destined path.
Determined to find my lifelong passion, I embarked on a journey of self-exploration. A brief stint at a friend’s hair salon taught me the art of haircutting, but it wasn’t my calling. It did, however, lead me to discover my knack for massage therapy.
Introduced to Thai Massage by a friend, Liz, I found my true calling. Combining my dance background with this therapeutic art, I started on a path that resonated with me. The positive feedback from friends and family fueled my decision to become a licensed massage therapist.
My journey took a turn toward holistic healing when I discovered Qi-Gong—an energy work practice that blew my mind. A 3-day workshop left me with a sense of deep healing, clearing emotional baggage and trauma that had been blocking my Qi flow for years.
In 2020, amidst the chaos of COVID, I passed my Florida state exam and embraced the pause as an opportunity to focus on my practice. Every experience, pain, and moment of grief transformed into fuel for my healing journey. My purpose became clear—to be a healer for others and myself, inspiring others to embark on their healing journeys.
The journey continues, and I’m excited to share more insights, practices, and stories with you. Join me on this path of self-discovery and healing!
